It can take just 30 seconds of smoking cessation very brief advice to save a life: - Ask about smoking status at every opportunity - Advise smokers about the best ways of quitting and discuss support available - Act by referring smokers to Help Me Quit Smokers who are not ready to quit should be asked to consider the possibility and encouraged to seek help in the future. The smoking status of those who are not ready to stop should be recorded and reviewed once a year where possible.
