Butterfly garden

Will create a colourful haven that will benefit bees and butterflies.

Keep Wales Tidy provided Nantyglo & Blaina Town Council with all the materials, tools and guidance that was needed to create and care for a small garden filled with bright, aromatic, nectar-rich plants.

The package will included:

  • Wildflower seed mix
  • Bulbs, plug plants, shrubs
  • Raised bed made from recycled plastic (1.2m x 1.4m)
  • Peat-free compost and topsoil
  • Trellis
  • Hand tools
The project is placed on the ground between the rear of Blaina Police Station and the the side of Blaina Community Centre. Volunteers and Tai Calon Team joined together to create the Butterfly Garden for our area. More photographs will be attached through the different stages of growth of the garden.
